  • 2751-2799 9th Street North Arlington, VA 22201, USA - Lyon Park
New curbs and gutters put in last year. Base layer of pavement was installed but final layer still remains to be completed. Bumps and raised manhole covers are current features.
  • 3200-3230 Arlington Boulevard Arlington, VA 22201, USA - Ashton Heights
Arlington Blvd between Fillmore and Glebe Rd needs to have a Jersey barrier to divide the two directions. Speeds and proximity makes for unsafe condition. A head-on collision at high speeds is very possible. No left turns, another disruptive and unsafe maneuver, should also be banned in this section.
  • Potholes Archived
Custis Memorial Parkway Arlington, VA 22205, USA - Arlington-East Falls
Several potholes are on the eastbound side in the right lane.
  • 2310 10th Street North Arlington, Virginia - Clarendon-Courthouse
Seems like a storm drain (if there is a storm drain) near the construction site is not functioning properly.
  • Henry G Shirley Memorial Highway Alexandria, Virginia - Alexandria Wrest
Crews for VDOT removed the old surface on the left two lanes of the main southbound roadway from Seminary to Edsall roads in this state of destruction. It's been this way for more than a week. Weather has been good so not sure why this extremely busy major highway was left incomplete. Resurfacing should have been done by the next day. Many other roads in the area are left in this state. The grinding crews are working. Are the paving crews on strike?
  • 730-800 North Barton Street Arlington, Virginia - Lyon Park
Workers left these blocks in a state of destruction. The resurfacing project was delayed by rain Friday. Monday 8/26 was clear and not a paving machine or worker in sight. This is a busy street and bus route. No excuse for why this shouldn't be done by now. With the speed hump gone and no cars parked it has now become a speedway. Other complaints are that residents got a total of one day's notice about this major disruption. Project should have been combined with other inconvenience of replacing damaged curb/gutter and sidewalks done earlier in the month.
  • 2201-2299 8th Street South Arlington, Virginia - Penrose
Homeowner has painted the new curb red and posted their own "no parking" sign. Apparently they want to reserve this part of the road for their own trash cans on trash day. They also built a platform for their cans on a public right-of-way where these receptacles need to be stored out of sight on non-collection days.
  • 2101 North Randolph Street Arlington, Virginia - Cherrydale
Many accidents including one with a car flipping over July 31, 2013 may have resulted from not seeing a sign blocked by a utility pole.
  • 29th Street South Arlington, Virginia - Fairlington-Shirlington
Street-wide grate can swallow a bicycle's wheel. This has slots parallel to the route of travel and is very dangerous.
  • 10105-10171 Georgetown Pike Great Falls, Virginia - Great Falls
The lack of a "reduced speed ahead" sign on the eastbound side can only be considered a deliberate move by Fairfax County to collect revenue from unsuspecting motorists. Well before you enter the village of Great Falls the speed limit drops to 25MPH. The road is still suitable for 35MPH. The police exploit this and rake in a ton of revenue from this "low hanging fruit." It's not about safety, if it were then there would be adequate warnings.
  • 2299 Constitution Avenue Northwest Washington, District of Columbia - US Congressional District DC98
When coming off the TR Bridge east at this first light there is some confusion. The lanes on the other side of this intersection do not line up with the lanes coming off the bridge. Drivers are not sure what lane is theirs causing some angry moments. This could be resolved if DDOT (or whoever has jurisdiction here) put clear "puppy track" markings across the intersection guiding drivers to their own lane.
  • Brandon Avenue Springfield, VA - Springfield
The far left lane of the ramps leading from the beltway to Franconia Rd. has been very rough for some time. It is in serious need of repaving.
  • 6635 Fleet Drive Alexandria, VA - Franconia
Two nice lanes from Beulah St to Flat Rock Rd road created by a recent townhouse development end suddenly. Drivers are on their own as to decide which one continues north and the other one needs to merge.
  • 4018 Campbell Avenue Arlington, VA - Fairlington-Shirlington
The nice shrubbery in the center of Campbell Ave unfortunately blocks the view of pedestrians coming from the other side of the street in the crosswalk. Drivers may not see them until they step out in front of them.
  • 3296 10th Street North Arlington, VA - Ballston-Virginia Square
The Hess station operator has placed a sign on the sidewalk that blocks the view of oncoming cars (heading east on 10th St. around inside curve) when exiting the station.
  • 2200-2226 North Pershing Drive Arlington, VA - Arlington
A part of the plan when they built the Pershing Apartment/retail complex was to add a slip lane and consolidate the two bus stops on Route 50. The new one on the north side of the intersection on the westbound side of Arlington Blvd. was to become the only stop here and it has been complete for some time. The stop on the other side is still there and has a muddy pull off area. I saw a bus today stop in the right lane since that pull off area is in such bad shape. This stop needs to be closed.
  • 2751-2799 9th Street North Arlington, VA - Lyon Park
Drivers on 9th St N are required to stop. Many drivers on the smaller Daniel street stop unnecessarily. It is time to change this to an official four-way stop intersection. Would be less confusing and safer.
  • Fleet Dr Franconia, VA - Franconia
The new dual turn lane from north Fleet to west Franconia is too acute. According to the lane markings the left is forced to turn very sharply into the far left lane. Many drivers (especially the frequent trucks) can't or don't and end up in the center lane. If there is a driver that starts in the right lane expecting to turn as directed into the center lane they may be forced to the far right lane to avoid a collision with a wide-turning vehicle. Better would be to have markings direct the left vehicle into the center and the right vehicle turn to the far right lane.
  • 805 N. Barton St. Arlington, VA - Lyon Park
Has been out for some time. A repair tag was attached but it is still dark. Pole number CO918, VE49
  • Virginia 27 & Columbia Pike & S Washington Blvd Arlington, VA - Foxcroft Heights
Construction has eliminated an acceleration lane. I've seen cars coming from the westbound Columbia Pike to East/South Washington Blvd. enter the right lane without stopping or yielding. One almost hit me and I've seen it happen to other drivers. We had to slam on our brakes to prevent an accident. The "yield" sign needs to be immediately replaced by several "stop" signs with signs warning those drivers about the stop.
